FMU or AFC hack?
 

Allright need your advice here: AFC hack or FMU

Setup: d16y7 motor (Automatic till my turbo kills it then swap :) )
14b turbo at 8 PSI
Intercooler of course havent got it yet thou

What would you guys suggest? Don't plan on bumping up the boost until I gets rods and pistions which will be a while. Any info is appreciated!

You need to read the engine management thread AGAIN AND AGAING UNTIL YOU KNOW IT. FMU most tards can do that. AFC works but you will need to retard timing at the dizzy or a btm and probably then use both over 5 psi. And if you are smart you will get an ecu. Take it from me, afc's and btms look cool but you just don't get the horsepower and you can save so much in gas with a ostrich and obd1. I got a 260+ hp b16a2 civic getting 35 miles to the gallon and its a daily driver in 100+ degree ---- ass weather. I know there are guys on here probably getting 40+ miles to the gallon and have 300 hp civics. When i ran the afc i got at best 28 miles per gallon and it ran crappy.

Oh Ya, i didnt read your last sentence

You can boost higher then 8 with a stock engine with a good tune. My engine is completely stock. You don't have to put all that money into the engine with good engine management. I know how your feeling, my poor fmu or afc, well it sucks until you get your computer plugged into your car computer and everyone thinks your some super smart car guy and all you did was read what some genius wrote and did, but of course i let them think i am smart. Someone already did it for you, now use it!!! :y

u dont need any type of specail chip,u need a chiped ecu.see if u chip a auto p28 and put a normal 5 speed .bin on it it will run any 5 speed car.now if u dont chip it then u may have to move around some jumpers to make it a 5 speed.

take ur auto ecu and chip it. Just dont cut the pins for the auto trans......I think that'll work but not sure. I'll leave you to read up on it :y

now idk if this y7 is in the car that its supposed to be, making it obd2, but if it is just save your self alot of time and trouble and convert to obd1 and get a chipped ecu and basemap from http://www.-------------/catalog/chip...ecu-p-154.html if somehow you figured out on your own to switch to obd1 already just get the chip and ecu

noob to not get flamed get wiht the program hit up xeno and chipped euc basemap and injectors and look for a tunner in your area.. how much worth it is your shitty engine thinkabout it maybe just go fmu and colder plugs its up to you to make the choice
