thanx that helped a lttle but I still can't open anything everytime I try to open a file it says I can't or need to select a program to open it wit and none I got work and I still have no idea on the data log

oh yeah and for some reason the chip that is in it now will only go to 6,000 rpms it's p28 wit uber chip from kevin and when it's not rollin it only gos to 4,000 rpms why could this be

dont open the file by double clicking on it ::)

put it in the same directory as the Uberdata program and then open Uberdata and then open the file from within Uberdata

I do really apologize but I got no idea what your talkin about they are all place in the same fold. If I understand correctly I have to put the datalogging into uberdata then open it? how?

Open the Uberdata program
Click File-->Open
Chose the StockGSR bin and click Open

Viola!

do you have vtec hooked up? does your vss work? the 4k rev limit while sitting still is your launch control ;)

I didn't even think of that until you asked but yeah that explains that I still can't datalog though I figured out how to open everything but when I plug the ecu in I get nuttin. Did I hook it up wrong or is there somethin else I have to open to make it work?

man, it's kind of hard to explain, but you have to set up all your com port settings the right way and figure out which comport your usb is on, then pick that com port in the data logging tab.

baud rate = 38400
data bits = 8
parity = none
stop bits = 1
flow control = none

then go under 'advanced' and disable the buffers and set it to com port 1

I kinda understand that like when I installed the phone cable software to the usb port that type ---- or I have to go into datalog and then select the usb port? well another dumb ? but I only have one usb port on my labtop so yeah I'll see what I can do

lol, it's cool, i remember it took me a while to get data logging working, but once i did, it was worth it, i was so happy i just drove around all night with my lap top on the pass. floor board :D

I just have no idea where to start I read what you said about settin up the com port but where i data log do I go the is no "advance" tab whe I open mine I got no clue :'(

'advanced' is on your port settings on your computer, that's where you can change what com port it is and disable the buffers, set it to com port 1 and disable the buffers, then go under the 'data logging' tab in uber data and select the sensors you want to data log, then select 'com port 1' in uber data, cross your fingers and wait a second and hopefully you'll be data logging :-\

I understand now thanx but I have no idea where to go on the comp to find the port setings I am runnin windows xp thats about all I know I bought this thing just for data logging so it;s all pretty knew to me

windows start menu -> settings -> control panel -> performance and maintenance -> system -> hardware (tab on 'system properties) -> device manager -> uneversal serial bus controllers

Then you should learn to read.. it isn't too hard to figure out really. Just look around on the datalogging section. It tells you exactly how to do it.


If you have XP, all you need to is go to your device manager and see what com port your datalogging cable is on, and make sure you installed the correct driver for the devices. After that, start up uber, load the map. Then go to the datalogging tab and click the com port you want. If everything is set up correctly it should start working as soon as you select the com port.

I am pretty sure it usually comes up on a com port.

the device manger is not in the control panel. It is under performance and maintnance. then systems. then you can clikc on device manager.

control panel looks like this.. the perf and mant. is the last one on the left.
