Factory chipped PR4?

I just bought an OBDI PR4 from a local boneyard. It is already chipped and looks factory? Anyone heard of this? The Jumper is actually a 0ohm resistor and the rest of the cap match the honda stuff.

0 ohm resistor, isn't that an oxymoron :P

Can you take a couple pics? I'm curious too.

yeah this was brought up a couple months back.

honda did some factory chipped ECU's, which makes sense, they have the spot for it...kinda adds up that they use it from time to time.

I meant like what Honda meant it to be for, the stock use of it.

My first p28 had that. As was said.. makes sense since it is the factory update port.

Re: Factory chipped PR4?

Closest thing I have seen to that was one with a socket, obviously aftermarket. Had a chip in it, but the jumper was not present so pointless I guess.

Re: Factory chipped PR4?

i've seen quite a few of them, mostly pr4's, but i've seen a few p06's also. you think honda outlined that area just for us to chip our ecu's? ;) and yes, i've had people send me their ecu to "chip with uberdata" and it's already socketed with like a mugen chip or something. what does this mean for me? 2 minutes worth of work and a free mugen chip :D

Re: Factory chipped PR4?

I have seen quite a few as well. A few AUTO P28s had them, and I believe they are all the very early production boards. I would rather the stupid chips not be there. They are more of a pain in the ass to get out.
