how hard would it be to solder wires into a chip socket, and the other ends onto a zif socket a few feet later?

Would there be a problem with resistances from long wires?

I want to mount just my chip someone, maby in a large "NOS" switch type cover lol, as im way to poor to afford a ostrich and my tuning consists of driving home, running inside and making changes hah.

 

wtf does it really take that long to pop the chip out of the ecu isnt that what zif sockets were invented for??

 

not the point, the ecu is under the rug. and i have a girlfriend who rides with all the time. and if u ever tried ghetto desktop computer tuning you are never truly done.

 

i hear ya there. where are you located i have an ostrich and a laptop if you wanna go out one night and tunne away with out having to run inside. however it would be pretty cool to plug a emulator into a dash port. however if you using uv chips you might have a problem where it erases itself if the car sat in the sun

 

i thought uv chips where oldschool.

and i made a post a few days ago, im willing to travel a lil bit from central florida and pay a non-pro tuner to street tune my ----.

 

to make ---- even worse my zif socket is broken now and iv already ruined my main chip pulling it out =/

 

i wonder if you can splice and solder one of those computer ide ribbon cables into the socket and onto the zif. by then i might as well go buy a damn ostrish and source out a laptop to borrow.

 

just keep the carpet pulled back and tue cover off the ecu its not that hard

 

i rode around with an open ecu in my da for like 3 months. I am in chicago but i think i will be in orlando in about a month.

i just been battling a shity idle that cutz randomly and revs back up (not your typical surge, its a cut even when its not revin to high, ---- it cutz after holding a steady idle) i know the stg 4 cams make idles suck but i think this is in my ignition or soming. damn msd bullshit.
