exhaust...
im about 85% ready to put a turbo in my car....but one thing i do NOT want is that crappy *** wraspy sound that peoples ehaust makes. ive only seen a few 1998 lx civic's with mufflers on them(dont knowif full ehustor not) but they all sounded really bad...what will i have to do to make sure that i DONT get that sound? i know to keep the respirater on but im sure there is more i can do.....i want my car be a really low pitch rumble thatis decently noisy that vibrates your car from just sitting next to you. does anyone understand what i mean? if this is a newb question i appologize .

Re: exhaust...
You need a resonator and a good muffler not a crappy 17 dollar ebay piece of poop.
I just ran 2.5 inch exhuast all the way back on my accord. I I cut the down pipe at the collector were it's still 2.5 wide so it wouldn't have any restrictions.
but I made two mistakes I didn't even use a resonator " I couldn't find one that didn't restrict down to 2" on the inside." and I used a crappy 20 dollar thrush muffler from advanced auto parts.
At certain rpms the car sounds like a bunch of metal bouncing around in a tin can. that muffler sucks.
I think i'm gonna go with a muffler I saw in a summit catoog I'll let you know how it sounds.
the exhaust was definatly worth doing though the car does run a little stronger now.

Re: exhaust...
on my all motor GSR i had somewhat the same problem. what i wanted was something that was quiet but flows good and doesn't look ricey.
my exhaust goes from the RMF header to a hedman 26"-30" (can't remember) resonator, 2.5" piping to a $15 summit 2.5" turbo muffler. sound great, not raspynes at all and it's fairly quiet while cruising and at idle, until i get WOT and VTEC kicks in.

Re: exhaust...
You dont really have to worry about it being raspy with the turbocharger, you could straighpipe it and its not going to sound like a big ------ ricer.
I just made my entire exhaust 2.5 including my dp, and stuck a 2.5 thrush turbo muffler on it, Not raspy 1 bit, and its real quiet, just barely louder than stock. It did get pretty annoying when my wastgate actuator fell off and the flapper stuck open.
