SST27SF512 256 Kbit - 512 Kbit - 1 Mbit - 2 Mbit (x8) Many-Time Programmable Flash Silicon Storage Technology

here is the data sheet, http://www.datasheetarchive.com/data...23/235612.html
but the short answer is yes

Re: erasing chips

i've got three chips

one is a 29c that has a known good map on it (the bbka track bin) in case something goes wrong and I need it. Better safe than sorry, I keep that one in my glovebox.

the other two are SST chips, I rotate them. Keep one in the ECU, one in the burner.

are all the chips that can be used in the willem burner pretty much the same, just have to switch the dip switches according to the chip

pretty much, the atmel 29c's (discontinued) dont have to be erased every time and no offset stuff has to be changed, etc...

Re: erasing chips

If you make the power swtching daughterboard (plans are on PGMFI) you can put two programs on one chip, and literally switch between them.

..street tun.. race tune.. (On the 512K chips, that is..)
