Ecu remapping HELP!

Hey guys I'm 16 and recently I have been trying to learn how to remap/ chip and ECU....well I was doing some research on the topic someone recommended I come to this site, and I must say the few things that I have read and in some of the other threads are very informative.

So with that said I would like to learn some more about ECU remapping....from what I know you need some kind of logging program and you can use either Zcontrol, crome, or uberdata, from your guy's experience is there any free programs (even if they are crappy) that I can use to learn how to get familiar with remapping and kind of mess around with?

Also what exactly does a data logging program do and what is a decent one? If data logging is what I think it is then it just Saves all the current senor information in the ECU.....is that correct?

Thanks all

Read that. Your dead on about datalogging. Download crome and try do the stuff the startup guide tells you to. It'll help you get more familiar with it.

Crome free doesn't have datalogging capabilities. You will have to use freelog in conjunction with crome to datalog.
