ECU problems in ls/vtec application

I just finished swapping an ls/vtec into my 93 civic Ex 4dr that was an automatic but I found on hondaswap.com how to convert an auto P28 to a 5spd, and am having some very serious problems,

-it idles at 2100 whether its warm or cold
-acts as like it has a studderbox at 4000 and will not go higher(i'm not sure if we did the conversion right and it still thinks its an auto or what?)
-is running rich as a mofo,(which I know is a combination of the check engine light as well as possibly the fact that I chipped the P28 ecu when I did the swap) she's only getting 15 miles to the gallon-ouch!

A buddy of mine chipped it for me, he claims he soldered the jumper over J1 however I don't think that he did because I can't even find it to see if he did or not, so if anyone can help me out with suggestions or trouble shooting I'd appreciate it. I'm not sure if I just have got some sensors backwords, or if there's a problem with us not soldering in J1 which I believe engages the new chip. Computer problems are kind of confusing to me, so any help will be appreciated. Also, if any one can post up a pic of an open P28 and highlight or circle where J1 is exactly i'd appreciate it, I think this is one of the main reasons for my problems because the ECU dosent know whether to listen to the stock ECU or the chip?

There is a dashed line on the ECU board...all modifications to the P28 need to be done in this area...J1 is in this area and MUST be jumped for the chip to be working properly.

You say its throwing a code...what code?

i'm not sure which code. I took it to auto zone but they couldnt hook uo to my obd1. so the only other way of knowing that I know of is to take it to honda, which is an hour and a half away from me and burning as much gas as it is I can't honestly afford to get up there until next week which is too late seeing as how this is my only transportation and i need it for work tomorrow. I already got the chip and jumpers and resisters in all i need to do left is the J1

Re:ECU problems in ls/vtec application

good news, and bad news. The good news I found J1 and there was a resister in it so I desoldered the resisiter and soldered in a wire to make the jumper. However the bad news is that I continued to have the same problems with the car on my test run, so I snipped J1 to return the Ecu to its stock opperation which by the way I again continued to have the same problems even after I snipped the jumper which would mean that even if I had a bad connection on the socket or chip it wouldn't matter seeing as how it should be bypassing it and running the stock program. So....... I'm not too sure what is going on but it seems like maybe I have some sensors wrong or backwords. Wat do you guys think?? I NEED to figure this out fast! I have gone a week like this already and need to get it fixed!!
