eCtune/ostrich and borrowing the ostrich for crome from time to time

***Cliff notes at bottom***

Ok, I appologize if this is a dumb question, but I am getting ready to buy eCtune and an ostrich. I also want to be able to pull the ostrich out every now and then to be able to tune another car on crome. I thought I remembered somewhere that eCtune will only work with the one ostrich. I am just currious if I will be able to save my tuen, pull the ostrich and use it for a quick crome tunning session, then drop my ectune map back on it for my car, or will I need another ostrich.

***cliff notes***
I use ectune in my car
I borrow the ostrich to tune another car
I put the ostrich back in my car and reload the map
will it work?

Re: eCtune/ostrich and borrowing the ostrich for crome from time to time

I'm not trying to use ectune on more then one car, I just feel like it is a waste of a good ostrich if I can't tune any other cars using crome with it, and then go back and Use it the way I payed for it on mine. Meh, still getting it, just currious.

Re: eCtune/ostrich and borrowing the ostrich for crome from time to time

-Save your Ectune .cal
-Reflash the firmware version on your Ostrich back to normal so that it will work w/ CROME again.
-After tuning the other car Reflash the Ostrich to the ectune specific firmware. Reload your .cal

I've done this before when I only had one Ostrich. I didnt have any problems, just a little more time consuming.

Sweet. Thanks for the help guys. I dont tuen all the time, but I do have a CRX I am building that I will probably just run on crome for now and was hoping I would be able to do this.

side note, Leed, when you going to have some time to come down to Port Orchard to tune my new beast?

Re: eCtune/ostrich and borrowing the ostrich for crome from time to time

emulator > Ostrich info > reset (unlocks ostrich to use crome)

when you want to go back to ectune, plug the ostrich back in and go to the same menu and click on "set vendor" and it will lock back to ectune.

30min drive from malichite there is a shop in Tacompton called axiom motorsports. I talked to them last year and they said its only $90/hr to rent there DynaPack dyno. They said the set it up and walk away and let you do all the tuning and pulls yourself. Seemed like a bunch of good guys.

Yeah, there are two actually. One is owend by RPM Porsche Homos that want $300/hour but there is another one in PO that will let us on for $100/hour. I would definatlly be down for making a day of it. The second dyno is about 10 minutes from Bremerton Raceways too. If we did it on the right day we could head down there afterwords and get some numbers :p

I wouldn't mind watching that sled of yours being dynoed if you're doing it around in Kent area.
Have you considered the dyno that Rich uses at Pina Motorsports or do you not like that one?

The owner of Pina is a douche bag, guys that work for him aren't.
Andre is just mad because all of the hondas limp over there and are fixed and tuned in a couple of days. All the cars he works on (DSMs) are towed there and sit there for ------- ever.
That's why Rich left it, but still tunes there though.

I have no dyno preference. I just like dirty 4ths on the freeway at the end of the day. :)

I figured since tommy has been super cool, and lets us do whatever we want anyways (not to mention he offered me 60 an hour for the dyno) wed do it there.... Just curious how this setup compares to the last....Bobs dyno would tell us that... IDK... Figure it out when you get back black O0

And you KNOW there will be plennnnnnty of filthy fourth and fifth gear tire demolition (REMEMBER THE FIFTH IN THE SAENZ IS 1:1 :6 ). I forsee a tank FULL of 114... Hawaiian BBQ and payment via 7.62...

Using the exact same dyno would be a good idea to show improvements.
BTW good deal on the dyno.
