EAVC VALVE & IDLING SCREW ADJ.
 

Does anyone know where I can find this valve on my honda? Ive heard you can clean it out using a carb cleaner then replace it to get a better idle. Also has anyone got a picture of the idling screw on the 2G CRX Its not very clear in the manual I got.

the eacv is on the BACK of the intake manifold. Its about the size of the neck on a bottle of beer. The Idle screw is right near that braided red hose on the throttle body. Its a flat head screw with a slot type screwdriver slot. It is recessed into its hole.

i know the one now cheers. Can the EAVC valve be removed and cleaned? if so with what? Are u from the UK or do u have difficulty sleeping lol

yes.. u can remove it to clean it, 3 bolts i think. Use carb cleaner.

are you trying to fix a crappy idle? I had a similar problem in my rex. If you have a helms follow instructions to a "T"!

- with car off, disconnect eacv.
- start car and adjust idle using screw
- when idle acheived turn off car
- reconnect eacv, reset ecu
- let idle with NOTHING ON for 1 min
- then idle for 1 min w/ headlights on high beam and rear defroster on
- then turn all accessories off, turn on A/C to MAX for 1 min
- turn all off again and turn car off

- all done! :)

Actually, it's two 12mm bolts.

I don't know about "cleaning it for better idle", but I've removed mine. Spliced in a 10w 10ohm resistor, plugged my thermo, and adjust idle directly through the idle screw. Setting my target idle through the ECU. ..just an idea if you're look for other options.

thats a good idea. any idea how i could somehow increase the input/output of the iacv so that it will draw in more air under load (in gear, a/c on, etc). the idle is already high but under these modes its way too low.
