just go and beat your head against a wall doing a DSM ecu -> honda splice.. I'm sure it will provide us with plenty of entertainment

Re:dsm ecu to control engine, honda ecu to control the rest?

Indeed, hahahahahahahahahahahahah.

Get this: EVERY ecu will require a total remap with a total engine change. MAF or no MAF.
MAF based systems can *tolerate* small engine changes but won't be in optimal tune.
You can play with boost all you like with a speed density system, but you need to map it for the amount of boost you run.
Splicing an ECU you can't reprogram onto an engine that's not the exact engine it was programmed for, is just asking for trouble.

ahh man, I completely forgot about the MAF.. how the hell did you expect to get around that? Were you just planning on bastardizing a GM MAF and then maybe making a block off plate for the MAP sensor? I don't think the DSM ecu will even run right without having some imput with spark.. you did want the honda ecu to still run spark and nothing else?

ummm...maybe i'm a tard but dsm's don't have distributors to read off of

Re:dsm ecu to control engine, honda ecu to control the rest?

They don't have distributors, they run wasted spark.
the 1g have a trigger wheel and pickup on the intake cam but the 2g uses a crank trigger I think.

Re:dsm ecu to control engine, honda ecu to control the rest?

neither use a dizzy but both use crank position sensors and several other distributor less ignition items. i had a 1g and the spark was messed up and that was the number one reason to come back to honda. DSM ignition systems are a pain in the ass!!!!

Re:dsm ecu to control engine, honda ecu to control the rest?

for some reason I was thinking that the 1g used a distributor.. I know about the 2g and that bastard crank positioning sensor.. why is it that all chrysler products built 1990+ have to somehow incorporate that thing?

If dsm's have crank and cam sensors than it will most defintly care which way the engine rotates ;)

That's really the smallest issue.
