dsm 450's and 12:1 fmu

I have a t3/to4e turbo w/ just installed 450's(blue tops)> I am also using a missing link. When i installed these injectors i took my 12:1 fmu off. My boy that tunes cars w/ a wideaband o2 told me to put the 12:1 back on and he could tune it better like that w/ my v-afc.Should i keep the 12:1 fmu or not. Which one would give me better gas mileage when not under boost. Can somebody give me some ideas and point me in the right direction. Settings for the v-afc as well

People here are going to advocate AFC and 450cc injectors over FMU. I don't see how you can tune an FMU, even with an AFC, with how the fuel pressures wander all over the place because you've maxxed out your fuel pump.

AFC, 450cc, and FMU... you can play this combo off each other to hit ~450 whp. There's a bit invloved in tuning that setup to work right, and I think those guys use smaller FMU discs.

you can bleed off some off the vacuum going to FMU to tune it.

Yeah my boy told me that he thinks it could probably be tuned w/o a fmu but he would rather use one. He tunes cars w/ a wibeband o2 on the street and he has done a few 10 and 11 sec civics w/ almost the same setup but w/ rc370's and 8:1 discs. So i guess i should just run w/ my fmu but with a smaller disc like a 6:1 or 8:1 w/ my 450's. Thanks for you guys help.

When you go bigger injectors and a smaller FMU, you stop having all the problems people bitch about with 12:1 FMUs and stock injectors. They start working really well.

Sadly, by the time you buy bigger injectors, FMU, and an AFC, you could have gotten a much better fuel/ignition system for what you spent.

Hey Joseph so if those other options are not availible (since i have an OBD2) An AFC, bigger injectors, and a smaller FMU is the next best thing for me. What size injectors with this hybrid type setup ..310s? YA i dont want to go jsut 12:1 FMU and a Fuel pump and chipping is not an option for me that i see. Not sure i wan tto convert to OBD1.

Ummm, I'm not calling BS or anything, but are you saying those Hondas that were running 10 and 11 second 1/4 were running on 370cc injectors???? That is actually impossible.

As for your question, why not get a Hondata system and a 1:1 fmu and bring that to your tuner? I don't see why you would need an fmu with 450cc injectors anyways unless you have a stock fuel pump with stock fuel pressure.
