i have a PM6 running TE with the RS232 to TTL interface kit professionaly installed (Xenocron) later on i purchased a
RS232 to TTL datalogging Cable from him so i can start datalogging, im letting you know now that im not that great with ecu's i know this should be a piece of cake, but im just a little confusued becuase on the outside of the ecu there is a female plug, but the cable just has 1 connector that is also female and that goes to the laptop do i need to purchase something else for the other side of the cable to screw into the side of the ecu? oh and i have a little white piece too its not in the picture, anyway i just dont want to tinker with it too much untill i get this cleared up

ok i understand everything now, thanks to chris there is just 1 little question i have left, since i pretty much purchased the same ------- thing twice i decided to just use the cable instead of little board one...anyway on the main ecu board the white male port is connected to CN3 instead of CN2 like it says on the instructions you provided, i put the brown wire on pin 1 and the orange wire is on pin 4.....so maybe your instuctions vary from ecu to ecu?
chris, can you see this pic??

it's cn2 on obd1 and cn3 on obd0. every different cable i've seen, they all use different color wires, but no matter what, the order they need to be in is the same, it should go.
pin 1- ground (most likely a brown or black wire on any cable)
pin 2- tx
pin 3- +5
pin 4- rx
