do any of the people who sell chipped ecus
do they sell them already tuned for your setup? like if i tell them what i have? because i'm not to familiar with uber, turboedit, crome or any of the others. and what do you all think of neptune?
|
Re: do any of the people who sell chipped ecus
they come with 'basemaps' to run your set up, sometimes good, sometimes great, there's just no way to tell, and there's no way to tune your car without physically being there or having data logs of the afr's.

Re: do any of the people who sell chipped ecus
ok. well it was worth a try haha. so how can i get my car tuned with uberdata? i have to buy a chipped ecu then take the car to someone who does it?

Re: do any of the people who sell chipped ecus
well, the KFC buffet is 3.99, gas up there and back will probably be about 20.00 bucks at the most, and i'm not sure what joey's charging for tuning these days, but i doubt it's over 150.00 at the very most, so i wouldn't expect to pay more than 175.00 bucks for the total endeavor :D

Re: do any of the people who sell chipped ecus
ha thats great. well what about the stuff i need? like the laptop and all that? whats does a wideband, chipped ecu, laptop and all the "ect" normally cost?

Re: do any of the people who sell chipped ecus
If you buy your own gear, I help for free. I won't set everything up, but if you get the laptop pulling a datastream and logging in Uberdata, I'm more than happy to stand over your shoulder and help you calibrate the wideband, etc and get everything set up so that you CAN tune. Then I'd probably drive your car while you sat bitch with the laptop, and we'd pull over between logs and I'd pester you with info while YOU made the changes to your tune. That offer is open to anyone.
Laptop ($150-500 used), wideband ($300 or a smidge less), datalogging cable ($35). At that point I'd lend one of my ROM emulators to smooth the tuning process so we dont have to yank chips out of the ECU and reburn all the time. These days I charge $200 to hook up my gear, tune for driveability as well as performance, burn the chip, and test drive for quality control. Add $50 if you need ECU socketing. I'm pretty rushed for time these days, so you might have to wait a bit or settle for some odd hours when you get the car together. |
Re: do any of the people who sell chipped ecus
so if i have the ecu i just give you what 200 dollars and i come to you you set everything up and it gets tuned? and if we do it that way do i get to learn how to do it too? and odd hours don't bother me at all
|
Re: do any of the people who sell chipped ecus
You'd get the abbreviated version if you pay me - my attention would be focussed on doing and not on teaching. There's a lot you have to pick up on your end if you buy all the tuning gear yourself, before you roll into my driveway, when you hook it all together.
Either way, you get what you put into it and nothing more. :) |
Re: do any of the people who sell chipped ecus
yea i understand. my thing is. you tune it for 200. and my car will run straight. thats really all i need. i dunno how to do any tuning or anyhting
