Default detonation after colder plugs?

running a d16y8 with 14b/hfmani,11psi

recently dyno tuned with crome and was running ngk's zfr5j-11's(stock plug and gap), car ran fine for around 2 months. tried a zfr6k-11(.033) recently and had detonation in cly.#1, blowing the ground strap off the plug . also tried a bcpr7es(.033) and same problem in boost. would the diff. plugs and gap cause the a/f to run lean? anybody run stock plugs and gap?,thanks

you dont need colder plugs for 11psi on a d series anyways, just put the stockers back in at .028"

change in heat range on the plugs is definitely constitution for a re-tune, so put stockers back in and call it good, or re-tune the car.

will the .028" gap effect the tune at all?

shouldnt make a difference, just deters ignition breakup. Might notice a slight change in AFR's, but I'd imagine very slight if none at all.

get your injectors flow tested. i'd be willing to bed cylinder one has a clogged injector. and the only reason that plug looks dark now is because it wouldnt burn all of the fuel with the plug like that... I also like to gap my plugs way down to around 18-20..

injectors are precision 440's, bought them brand new and have been used only 2 months.
