datalogging problems

i plead for mercy to not get flamed, but... i searched like a mofo even on the pgmfi, honda tech, uberdata forums with no luck, i been literally A WHOLE DAY trying to figure out how to datalog properly with uberdata, i got the usb cable and installed the drivers for it, i get all kinds of strange readings that dont make any sense at all, all of them are static and they dont change the readings are always the same, i tried ------- up with the port settings bits, bauds and all that crap, nothing worked i also tried uber versions 1.63 1.66 and 1.70 from wich 1.70 gives the oddest readings, i saw csaddict having the same problem in a topic but didn't see any solutions that i havent tried, anyways at this point might be the cable :3

Make sure you have the cable on the proper directions and the right drivers installed.

http://www.-------------/install/USB-Board.htm

Then go into your Device Manager and find out which COM port was assigned to that device. Then go into Uber and select that same COM port.

it was assigned to com port 3 and thats what i used, i havent checked that every cable pin is in the correct spot, i thought it came ready to plug in :1 it was nice to see that you installed the 4 pin header when you chipped my ecu ;D

oh well today another full day trying to figure this out, im giving up this is just not gonna work and i dont know what it is, uber keeps reading the same crap regardless if its plugged or not into the ecu, none of the reading make sense at all im just gonna save for hondata since uber doesnt offer any kind of support for dumbfucks like me.

I was in the same situation the first time I tried to datalog, I used ecucontrol, but regardless make sure you have the cable plugged in right. It could be plugged into the ecu backwards, that will ---- your readings up for sure. Also make sure the speed for the port is correct. Good luck

Re: datalogging problems

im not sure about the port speeds but i tried switching the pin in every test just to make sure, is it necesary to have the same map that you are running open in uberdata to datalog or can i use whatever else?, otherwise it doesnt give me any options under datalogging i been using the p06 map that comes with uber.

**UPDATE**

today i came across this:

LOL im a jackass i was assuming that your bins that came with uberdata had the datalogging code on it already durrr... i added in the code and everything is working fine now . GREAT work guys this is awsome.

Are you able to save a output file and replay it in uberdata or is that only in ecucontrol??

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

i assume this is my problem so im gonna check in a bit, if anyone can post the port settings based on win98 would be great

i have most of them except:

flow control- Xon/Xoff, hardware and none
under advanced- i get the usb tranfer sizes wich i have setup for 3840 on both RX and TX
BM features- (latency) wich is setup for 15 m/sec
and options wich shows a check box that says "disable PNP" and it's currently unchecked

It does come ready to plug right in...but it can be plugged in two different ways. On the USB there are four pins...sometimes pin 3 is blank and sometimes it has a red wire in it...that should ALWAYS be on spot #3 of the CN2 connector in your ECU
