Re:dastek unichip

Its a very misterious and powerfull device and its secret is hidden in its power or smthing like that i got to ask the dudes
but seriously I do
its south african
It cost $190 in South africa but you have to pay triple the price in europ.
Its not a stand alone
Only dastek guys can set it up, and you cant connect it to your laptop fast furious style :(
Its a very good device, once nicely seted up ou can basicaly manage every part of the engine at every level of boost and RPM
It is nice to use the 5th injectors answer with it.
anyway its some good stuff my workshop is pushing me to buy it.
they say it will resolve half of my problem with fuel ratio and vtec engagement point , i dont know how can it cope with my premature ejaculations but maybe ill give them a try 8)
;D

Here is some quick info regarding the UniChip. Just got back from SEMA today, where I was able to meet with the company that has the US rights to UniChip, believe it or not, the rights are claimed to be owned by the Bushwacker company, a maker of fender flares for the 4x4 community.

- South African based company.
- In the US, the rights are owned by a subsidiary of the Bushwacker company. They bought them about two months ago.
- They are going to be licensing the technology to professional tuners only...meaning shops with dynos.
- Everyone who buys a license will also have to use/buy the same dyno so that everyone is comparing apples to apples.
- Each tune will be completed by the shop and locked down, so that the car owner cannot dick with it...bummer
- Each tune will be uploaded to a central database at UniChip, including all the particulars about the car. Engine, Mods, Add-ons, Bolt-ons, etc.
- Future revisions will include allowing the owner to download updated tunes if they change their mods, add-ons, etc. as long as the combinations has been uploaded by a licensed shop. We still can't dick with it...

My personal opinion is that it will be a great product for those who can afford it, and do not have a desire to monkey with things. For those of us who don't have a bunch of cash lying around, and like to play with our settings, it just won't do...

My two cents...
