danger to the motor?
i just threw in my lsvtec and wanted to run it until i could bring it somewhere to get chipped and tuned, i was wondering if it would be safe to run stock injectors with a p05 ecu on it, i know the vtec wont kick in, but i just wanted something to get the car on the road, or would it even be ok to run the p05 with an safc and 450's? both are what i am considering, i just got done rebuilding the motor, these are the specs
t3/t4 57 trim b16 head je 9:1 pistons .20 over eagle hbeam rods fidanza flywheel gsr oil/water pumps what do you think? |

DANGER! :1
Actually I have no clue :6 The p05 isn't made for 450cc injectors is it? Wouldn't it run rich? I would try to find a basemap or something to at least get you safely to a shop. I wouldn't try to go in boost... |
Re: danger to the motor?
Throw in the stock injectors and ECU with the wastegate open, drive to the place where you're getting it tuned, swap them and then tune it.

Re: danger to the motor?
no one answered the question yet, is it safe to run a p05 with stock injectors on an lsvtec?
edit: keeping in mind i know it wont activate vtec |

Re: danger to the motor?
if you wanna break the motor in right, you're not going to be able to do it in low rpm.
best bet is the AFC and 450's and run it up around 6000max with no vtec at the most. http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm but to answer your question...if you wanted to simply put in a stock ecu and injectors and baby it around, it will be fine, just keep it in low rpm. however you wont manage much of a break in that way. |
