Damn burner... need help please... can't erase ***solve***
I have the enhanced willer burner... not the dual willem
so this is the burner i'm talking about https://i11.ebayimg.com/03/i/06/46/ec/f4_1.JPG i'm using it since 2 year now, i always burned atmel 29c256 with no problem, now i'm using sst27sf512 and i have some problem... when the chip is virgin, i can burn my program (using 0x8000 offset), and its working fine. But i know these chips need to be erase before burning a new bin. So, my problem is i can't erase them, i have 2 chips and both do the same: i set the jumper 1,2,4,6,10,11,12 off and 3,5,7,8,9 on, i remove the safety jumper, i click on the button beside the zif socket to put the led in front of w27c, i have my software set to pcb3 and chip selected to 27sf512... don't work. i'm so frustrated right >:( |

Never give up... that's what i have done... i found a way to make them work! I can't believe i spent more than 8 hours doing everything to make it works.
Here is "my" procedure to erase sst27sf512 on the Enhanced willem burner, not the dual. -be sure to have the latest software .97ja -make sure the safety jumper is remove -start the prog and make sure your burner led are both on normal -push the buton(chip selection) until the led comes to "w27c" -put the chip in -read the chip -clear the cache -push the buton again until the led comes to normal -click erase want to erase another one? repeat these steps -push the buton until the led comes to "w27c" -put the chip in -read the chip -clear the cache -push the buton again until the led comes to normal -click erase ----------------------------------------------------------------- let the voltage on normal to put the chip selector on w27c, i must pres the voltage and chipselector a couple of time to make it work, don't know if you have the same issue. for me its the only way to make it work, i have try over 100 différend procedure and it fail, so i dunno if it will work for you. -Labatt50 |

Cool, congrats on making it work, I don't think I'd have the patience for that.

How have you been setting up your enhanced burner to burn those AT29C256 chips? I am having the hardest time figuring it out.
i have the jumper in from 3-31 but other than that i am completely lost, i would appreciate it if you would give me a hand here, maybe a pic with it setup for burning and then erasing AT29C256 chips if that is what you have been using. thank you |

Thank you, my laptop does not have a 25 pin serial port, only a 9 pin so I went to radio shack and bought an adapter to plug into the 9 pin in my computer and then the 25 pin cable that came with the burner. It still says check power and connection so i will go and get a serial cable that just plugs into my usb. how do you set it up for erasing?
THANK YOU!!!!! |
