Code 21 with chipped ecu, no code with stock

K perhaps this has been answered, perhaps this is something I overlooked but I couldnt seem to find a previous post with a similar problem so I'll go ahead and ask.

jdm b16a into a eg coupe.
with stock ECU (square box) plugged in it will not throw any codes (i havnt driven with it obviously but no codes at idle none the less
with chipped p30 (or so it's suppose to be, serial numers nowhere to be found)

with xeno's basemap it runs great, it will get me to the dyno, no problem, runs smooth through all gears
BUT i get a code 21 as soon as i start the car.
I tried a few different things as far as enableing different sensors and ---- via crome, just for shits and giggles.
no dice.

obviously vtec switch/solenoid is working, the wiring is fine. obviously can't run it with the stock ECU, but there isn't any code's when i plug it in none the less.

Sooo... is there a chance the ECU I'm using is just fucked somehow or another? mismatched for the engine? I know this is what i get for having the ecu pre-chipped and sent to me via ebay, and the fact it has no serial numbers makes it worse. flame me for lack of identifyable info, but thats all i got. none the less wanted a second opinion on it, should i just go ahead and get the square box jdm ecu that i know works with the engine chipped?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm a Electronics noob, but im working on it.

DM

Post a pic of the ecu.

Here is 3 pics of the current chipped ECU...not sure if you can make anything of it, no serial numbers whatsoever.

Attachment 27487
Attachment 27488
Attachment 27489

here is the one that came with the engine that throws no codes at all but is unchipped.

p30
Attachment 27490

i know that probably doesnt help but there they are anyways.

A picture of the upper left hand quarter of it please. It has to be a close up. Check to see what number Q26 is. Sometimes someone puts an NPN where a PNP should be.

Q26 is an NPN transistor not PNP.

ok upper left....hmmm guess that would depend on what way it was facing...meaning here is a picture of all of it, just in case you're upper left is different from my upper left HAHA

We need pics of:

IC14 area

part number of Q26

RM11

Try to get both sides of the ecu.

Not always, I can't see the board number. Or are you saying you know its an NPN in this particular ecu?

I chip dozens of ecus a month. That board is a 1720, you can tell by the many extra components that are used for VTEC, auto stuff unlike the 11F0 which uses much less. Or you can also see the ID in the first pic. :P

The 11F0 ecu however does use a PNP transistor to trigger IC14.

Ok, not trying to threadjack but I posted up the same question not to long ago without much of a response. I am having the same problem with a chipped P06. If I burn a stock basemap for an LS I don't have any problems except I get a code 21. If I make any changes on the map and reburn it, I get a solid check engine light. From what the owner tells me, the car runs fine even with the code, but we are wanting to make changes such as launch control and O2 heater, but we get a solid CEL and it runs like crap when we make the changes. So, I would like to know WTF is going on also.
