Does the Y/Blk wire have 12v @ key on?
Does the other wire have continuity to A9 on the ECU?

If you dont get continuity from either wire to A9, test the other 2wire plugs in the area to see if they do. If you find one that does, thats the IACV plug.

I opened myself a helms manual book and went through the trouble shooting. Didn't really help.. I ended up re-wiring the 2 wires from IACV to ECU. Which are blk/yel and black/blue. Tested to see if they had voltage flowing and they did.. I also tried jumping the IACV to see if that was bad.. but it clicked and helms said if it clicked then it's not the IACV.

How do you adjust or rid of this "1500 rpm rev limit" chime back it! I'm so frustrated with this problem.

ok ok.. I just read from bunch of different forums and supposedly the IACV, when code 14 or P1509 throws the ECU automatically sets the 1500 rpm rev limiter.. :/ weird..

So now the question is.. what could be the problem? did I do something wrong with the wiring? I did the 3 wires to 2 wires conversion due to Y8 IM being in Y7 head.. I repinned the orange wires and left it out cuz I'm not supposed to use that wire and also took the wire out of th ECU side and repinned the blk/blue to appropriate place. Got all these sources for ffsquad.

I'm gonna try this again and see what the problem is.. I tried different ECU as well.. cuz I thought maybe my ECU went bad.

P.S. could it be because my wires are too long from ECU to IACV? cuz it goes from ECU to driver side firewall up to IACV.. is that bad?

yeah.. even changed with 3 other IACV.. and 2 other ECU that was working well.. found out that I'm not supposed to use my stock P2E ECU :1 I'm a ------ noob..

could I use a P06 if I had the obd2 - obd1 conversion harness?

haha yah the p2e looks for a 3 wire iacv but you've converted to a 2 wire.

wait, wtf. you said your stock p2e ecu. p2e is for a y7 motor. obd2. you're running a full z6 motor, why are you talking about obd2-1 conversion harness?

what chassis is this motor in?

sorry.. but I thread jacked. I do have the D16Y7 motor Y8 IM. I'm planning on boosting it. which is the only reason why I did the manifold swap.

could I just use the P2P ECU (Y for now? or is that gonna run funny since it's vtec ecu.

oohhh i didn't realize you weren't the original poster. since you plan on boosting, get the obd1-2 conversion harness and a p06 ecu. then you're all set to get it chipped and tuned for boost.

if you've tried 3 different iacv's and 2 ecu's you might have did the wiring wrong.

go to www.jdmuniverse.com and search for the y7 y8 mini me thread written by lillowek. I know he had an image about repinning. im running a boosted y7/y8 right now and when i did my mini-me i followed his writeup. just pay attention to the iacv pinning part and verify your pins. your description sounds right but i forget off the top of my head. verify that when you moved the pin you stuck it in the right spot.

I think that was the thread I was reading. I know I did the wiring right cuz I ran the p06 last night and it drove fine.. just really shitty though for some reason it was running pig rich. What ECU could I run for now? P2P? or other obd1 ECUs?

you have other issues if you run pig rich on a p06. what injectors are in the car? with a p2p ecu you might run lean in lower rpm and rich above the vtec point. this is because the ecu dumps more fuel past vtec, and you might run lean because the p2p is set for 240cc injectors. assuming you are running stock injectors?
