Setup is:
d16z6
DSM 390's
Crome basemap
D15 throttle body <-------- Could this be the problem? I thought the only difference was the map sensor mounting point.
IHI turbo


Here's the symtoms:

Before I turboed the car, it ran fine with no CEL, idled fine. Now it idles just fine but when you give it a small amount of partial throttle, it surges some and when you coast off throttle the car bucks because of surging. I'm thinking it's an ECU problem because the car never did this N/A, and now with the chipped ECU it does.

Reason for the d15 throttle body, Had a busted TPS on the old one and I think it was a b18 T-body, got the d15 one with map sensor for cheap. But that shouldn't change ---- right? I mean the map sensor is the only difference between them right?

Is it throwing a code now? If its throwing the 14, your surging idle is most likely the IACV. Have you tried playing with the IACV Duty Cylce slider in crome?
BTW, If you want to use the larger b18 tb, you can switch the tps and calibrate it using a voltmeter.

The thing is the idle doesn't surge. It's steady as can be. What it does though is when I give it just a little gas to get it from idle to like 1500 RPMS it surges there. like between 1600 and 1400. No where else. And yes it is throwing a code 14 for the IACV.

When I got my code 14, it was because the IACV plug was switched with that little black thingy next to it's plug, I switched them back around and the cel went away

I have the same problem! except this happened after I did the Y8 IM swap on my Y7.. wth? let me know if you fixed it. mine was throwing p103 IACV circuit malfunction. But the symptom is same as yours.. car runs fine but it surges exactly at 1.5k and no where else!

The low throttle 1500rpm rev limit is the result of the Code 14. Fix that, and it will go away.

Does the Y/Blk wire have 12v @ key on?
Does the other wire have continuity to A9 on the ECU?

If you dont get continuity from either wire to A9, test the other 2wire plugs in the area to see if they do. If you find one that does, thats the IACV plug.

i threw a code 14 when the screen on the IACV was dirty. pulled it off, it didn't seem THAT dirty but i carb cleaner sprayed the F out of it. put it back in. pulled the negative terminal of the battery and the backup radio fuse. then start the car and let it idle to FULL warm WITHOUT pressing the accelerator. shut the car off.

that worked for me

If you follow the steps I listed, you will find the problem.
