closed loop vs. open loop

i will be putting in my turbo "kit" within the next few weeks. i was wondering about disabling closed loop operation with uberdata. with closed loop the ecu is trying to reach a 14.7 a/f ratio which is bad when in boost. i also want good gas mileage as well. i was wondering if anyone knew how the turbo dsm deal with this. do their ecus switch to open loop for boost or what. any suggestions are welcomed. i do a lot of highway hill climbs and possible low boost situations. thanks.

They deal with it just like your Honda would... unless you're a freak on the gas, you shouldn't be part throttle boosting anyway.

..meaning, when you're cruising (around 10inHg) you'll be in closed loop. When you mash the gas, you'll be in open (80%+ TPS).

..Does Uberdata not support disable of closed loop in boost? Hrm.. Rory rocked that feature for TE. :)

..anyway.. If it doens't have it,a nd you're worried, just tune your maps to whatever you want, and disable closed loop all together.

I don't even run with my oxygen sensor enabled on my car. Get 14.4:1 cruising, 13.5 WOT (all motor).

No, closed loop in boost isn't yet supported. It's been being tested by myself and other's but not yet completed. I just disable closed loop for right now and tune out the map the way it should be. I must be a freak on the gas because I used to be in closed loop while boosting quite a bit until I disabled it :-\ I hated having to watch the boost/vac guage and concentrate on my throttle position. It makes the whole turbo driving experience no fun ;)

Closed loop is bad if you are boosting and you see the ECU trying to bring the A/F ratio to stoich on the WB.

I've been o2 disabled in TE for about 3 weeks now and even though I still need some tuning because I'm very rich, the car never ran, idled and boosted smoother!

How do you disable the O2 senser in TurboEdit?
