Chipping question

Well, I have a PM6 ECU that i would like to chip. And i read from PGMFI.org that you have to change couple of capacitors? Is this true? I'm totally confused? I thought I only have to replace the 28 pin chip only?

This is correct.

It would help if you gave us a link to the info that was confusing you...my bet is you were reading about OBD1 chipping.

Does PR4's require more than the basic OBD0 chipping?? Like does it need additional capacitors? Etc???

No, obd0 PR4's and PM6's both just need a socket, unless you want datalogging too. If so, you have to solder in 4 pin headers to the CN2/CN3 connectors as well. (that's how I do it anyway)

there's 5 points at cn2/3, you only use 1,2, and 4 with a nokia cable, and 1-4 with a max 233

yeah, I just put pin headers on 1-4 and leave out 3 on the connector plug if using the cable. That way, if I need the 5v, it's there.
