chipping a p72
i just chipped a p28 for a guy with an ls/vtec, he wanted me to get rid of the knock sensor code, so i disabled it for him. he gave me in return a stock virgin p72 gsr ecu + boot. i've heard of people chipping these, but never attempted it myself. i'd like to use it, since it has the knock board built in, i thought hey it'd be pretty nice to try and implement a knock sensor into my engine. is there any different process to chipping a p72? i see it has the same slots for the eprom and 74hc373 chip, along with the jumper and cs1/cs2. however, this one doesnt have a resistor slot where r72 (i think...) usually goes, right under j1. does it not need a resistor here to regulate voltage?

Re: chipping a p72
No resistor needed on the P72/P75 ECUs
Chip the same way you would a P28 |
