chipping OBD1 ECU.....looking a little deeper...

so i was having a problem with a P72 and a solid CEL after chipping, that i have fixed now, but it has brought up a couple questions... (my other post)

then i found this the other night...

https://i17.ebayimg.com/02/i/03/46/af/bc_1_b.JPG

there is NO 74hc373 in it, NO caps, NO resistor... but it is chipped and gudging by the fact that its a JET modified ECU, i would assume its legit and working...

....your thoughts?...

Where did you find that picture. Maybe it was taken in teh middle of chipping? I dunno, but there needs to be all that stuff.

actually, the caps are just for noise filtering, and the resistor at r54 (which obviously isn't neccessary b/c it's not even present on p72/p75's) isn't 'neccessary' either. the only things neccessary are to jump j1, which i can't tell in the pic if it is, and the 74hc. maybe they installed it on the bottom of the board, or like cray said, simply took that picture to show the actual eprom itself :-\

Probably just someone trying to pass off a stock ECU with a Jet chip in it.

No J1, NO HC373 - stock maps out of the MCU.
