Re: chipped p06 Q's

jumper isnt connected it wont read the chip which means the ecu is running off the stock ecu rom aka factory honda d15b7 killer

well the car is what i can tell a dx. imean the engine block has d15b7 stamped on it thats all i can tell. the guy said the engine was rebuilt when he bought it last year. its been sitting for well over a month probably 2 months. after i bought it i cranked it up and ran it for a while to see if it would overheat or not. the engine sounded smoothe as it was idleing but driving it... was a different story. the guy said it would stumble etc and run badly because of the ecu was chipped and not the stock ecu. so was i lied to? is this ecu running stock (supposedly)

Re: chipped p06 Q's

there has been no chipping of that ecu

it is stock and yes you were lied to

the chips go where on the ecu where you see

27256 and 74hc373

also none of the jumpers or resistors are on the board to run an eprom has well

Can you tell if the ecu has been taken out alot? If it has been youve probably ended up with the wrong stock ecu for the wrong engine. DOes the car look like it's had a motor swap or basically just been molested?

It's hard to tell what you have. Maybe get your vin # the part #'s off the ecu and the engine code and call a honda dealer and see if someone will be nice and help you sort it out. Ive had them help me like that before.

yeah the vin on the dash starts with 2h im pretty sure thats a dx vin. the engine block has d15b7 stamped on it and the ecu has a lil barcode sticker on the inside that has p06 on it. and im getting a CEL so im gonna go check it out at advanced tomrrow, cuz it doesnt have the blinking light :(
