chipped my ECU ..Problems...!!!!

I tried using the .bin that Chevy wrote for me and it wont go past 3,500 RPM's. I tried the one i made and it wouldnt go past 4,000 k. I did notice thought that when i held the gas and it would just stop at 4,000 it would blow off abit when i let off the gas.

Anyway, i also noticed that when the ECU case touched the metal on the car ( the mouting area where the ECU sits ) it would cut off. Like somethin isnt grounded within the ECU. I can't seem to figure it out. I dont know whats causing the short and i'm thinking that this is why it wont rev past 4,000k. anyone ever have this problem.

Re:chipped my ECU ..Problems...!!!!

Along the sides of the PM6, there are electrical components secured to the sides of the cases. In a good ECU there are rubber insulators between these components and the metal case. When people chip ECUs sometimes (and dont know what they are doing) they take the entire board out of the cases and these rubber pieces fall out or get misaligned. This would cause these pieces to no longer be insulated.

Check that out...if you find what I am describing, just put a piece of thin plastic behind them and them tighten the screws down.
