chipped ecu,solid CEL???

So, i've been working on this ---- for the past couple of hours. Ecu is fine when jumper is removed but when jumper is connected throws solid CEL. Tried different chipped ECU and same thing solid CEL, Hooked the ostrich up with the map on it and still the same issue. Has anyone ever had an issue where car is just not starting? There is fuel as i can smell it, checked for spark and it also does spark ???, i'm thinking an injector may be stuck open but, i dont think that will cause a solid cel. I went over all the solder points again with the solder gun, still having the same issue. Somebody help me the ---- out. :S

Re: chipped ecu,solid CEL???

Are you burning SST512 chips? You have to erase them first and you have to start them at an 8000 hex position.

Re: chipped ecu,solid CEL???

yeah their the sst chips. im not currently at home so i cant change the hex position. i've actually heard that before but i thought it was only on willem burners. So i'll have to check when i get home. thanks for the reply :)

Re: chipped ecu,solid CEL???

Set it to the 27sf512 setting and then set the start address in hex number to 8000. Then load file to buffer, the erase chip, then program chip. The first two steps you can do in either order.

Also make sure you are putting the chip in the burner correctly. With the release arm on top the chip should go all the way on the bottom with the notch facing the release arm. There should be empty slots btween the release arm and the chip if its in correctly. Also put it the ecu correctly with the notch facing the arm.

well the car starts with no cel. Runs flawlessly with the ostrich. but when i burn it onto a chip and drive it. when i want to get on it it starts bucking like crazy. Just the slightest bit of throttle.
