Chipped ECU ISSUES

I just got a eprommer6, AMTEL29C256 Chips and downloaded TE2

I have a PM6 and have a ZC engine. Right now I just want to burn the stock PM7 code onto the chip and run it on the PM6 until I get boosted.

I started with a stock PM6 bin file from PGMFI.org and imprted the Stock PM7.exp maps from the TE website.

Heres where it gets wierd...
It starts fine, when the key is turned to start there is thatr quick CEL blip and then off. Starts fine and idles perfect. After 30sec or so the check engine light stays constant the LED stays lit and the idle changes.

Any suggestions?? Im stumped.......

Limp Mode.

How does it run with your stock chip in. Not a burned one, but a stock one?

Second, don't use a "stock" bin from PGMFI. They're only 17K normally, and some burning software tries to checksum the ROM because it's not the full 32K that it's supposed to be. This will throw your ECU into limp mode because it thinks the ROM is corrupted.

Suggestions: Try the chip you desoldered first. (Yes, I know it's a SOHC chip, but don't drive around on it, just start it up for a minute to see if the ECU drops to limp) If this test works, move on the to next test.

Burn a ROM from the TE website. Try the stable for now. IT's not stable, but use it anyway. As soon as it is confirmed that the latest beta ROM is functional, I'll post it, and you can download it, and import your maps to that one.

That happened to me with an egay chip, I got another egay chip and it was fixed. That's before being boosted, and now I'm waiting to get a turboedit chip.

There's got to be something wrong with the chip, Do want he said, TurboEF9, he knows what he's talking about.

Thanks a million, i didnt see the bin on the TE website only the exp files. You might want to put a link to the bin file under the MAp library section to advoid some confusion, i thoughgt I had to look elsewhere (pgmfi) for a bin to use.

Thanks Jason, youve got another BETA tester :)

Hahaha... it's in the "Download" section, right next to the link where you downloaded the GUI. :D
