Chip writing error

Tried burning my first map, and as i tries to write to the ic it says

IC CONDITION: Programmed till 58(dec)/3a(hex)
Checksum:63ac

The ic data is not equivalent to the editor data

Re:Chip writing error

What EM system?

What burner?

What chip?

Are your settings correct for the chip?

If you mean the map, i don't think it's the map, i've tried the stock, stable, and my base map tuned an none of them work, it almost seems as though there isn't enough space on the ic??

Re:Chip writing error

you try to erace the IC first? i know they auto erace but you might need to do it on this one? you doing anything with ESD safety? are you daizy chaining the parallel port at all?

Re:Chip writing error

Yes, it's all done in an esd safe environment(i'm and electonics tech by trade), i tried to erase the ic, but it won't let me, it says there is no need, that it will auto erase..

The only thing i can see is that there is a choice, there is at28c256, or 29c256..My ic's are AT29c256 and i've chosen the 29c256 setup..This is really frustrating me, i was talking to a friend who suggested a 9v battery instead of the ac/adapter, and that didn't work either..

Re:Chip writing error

Smokey 07-14-2004 11:05 AM

Re:Chip writing error

600mhz comp, 512k ram, winxp, and it's connected directly to the parallel port.. Maybe i'll try it on another pc, hopefully that will work

Re:Chip writing error

Sorry dude, i bought it used like 2 years ago, i have never opened it up myself.. No dongle, no daisy chain, it's the one and only thing connected to the parallel port, it sees the chip..
After hitting start, it goes thru three status bar screens, then the error comes up as stated above..

Re:Chip writing error

and it's not a brand name comp, and i don't know any info about the mother board or anything...

Re:Chip writing error

Fill your buffer with all 0x00, and write that. If that works, then write the ROM to the chip.

Re:Chip writing error

tried that, it wrote it with no errors, but as soon as i put in a map it comes up with the same ----.. Does it have to be registered? It should work for up to 256 right?

TurboEF9 07-14-2004 05:27 PM

Re:Chip writing error

I'm pretty sure it has to be registered.
