Check valve in line with the FPR?
I've have a few people tell that you should get an aftermarket FPR if you are using Uberdata. They say that the stock press. reg. won't live very long if it is exposed to boost on a regular basis (12 psi) Anybody know if putting a check valve in with it is a good idea, bad idea? I was going to try it, but not if someone says it's a bad idea...

I have Uberdata and an aftermarket FPR is not needed.

Boost will not hurt your stock fpr but you will need to upgrade to an adjustable one (like the el cheapo B&M) if you put in dsm injectors or injectors that need a different fuel pressure than the stock honda injectors. Or really its not needed but a good thing to have |

^^^ werd
Rockin' the stock regulator is fine. |
Re:Check valve in line with the FPR?
Thank you for the quick answer! That tells me exactly what I needed to know...I have a walbro 255 and I NEVER go lean at all, I'm not tuned yet so I really am rich all the time...so far that is... ;D

Re:Check valve in line with the FPR?
Do not run a 255lph intank pump with a stock FPR, it simply cant return enough fuel for the increased flow the pumps throwing at it. This creates a bottle neck and causes a pressure increase in the rail.
I had the same problem in my car and couldnt turn the fuel pressure at idle below 50psi. I decided to do it the right way, and do a custom setup (now with a GE fuel rail) with an AEM 1:1 fuel regulator so as to not have problems with fuel supply to the 740's and mid-450hp motor im running. Heres a pic of it http://www.polycount.com/cottages/xyz/misc/ht/fpr.jpg Its an easy mod... just drill the end of your fuel rail, tap it, get some AN line/fittings, tap the hole thats left from the stock FPR to 1/8" NPT and plug it, and replace the stock fuel return hose and its good to go :) Hope that gives some insight! |
