Check engine light... which friggin code it is?

First off, no I'm not retarded. Not today anyways. I know how to check ecu codes just fine. Here's what I posted on H-T (I hate that place but I am desperate right now)

"So I am running a chipped P28 with uberdata. Last night everything was fine, no check engine lights, had my LM-1 outputting to my ecu for datalogging. I come back this morning and I get an error code... except I'm not sure which. There are 2 long blinks followed by a very short one, it's so quick that the bulb doesn't even have time to light up all the way. So I'm thinking code 2, code 20, maybe code 21. I have checked all those out. It's not my O2 sensor, I have closed loop disabled and tried disabling the heater and leaving it on. What the heck could be causing the check engine light?"

Someone suggested code 21 but I have no vtec and all related sensors are disabled. I am kind of confused why the third blink is so damn short. Like a fraction of a second. Anybody have any ideas?

Well I'd have to see for sure but from what your describing, 2 long blinks and 1 short, would be a code 21. That also stands for Vtec spool solenoid valve. I'm not sure why it's throwing that code if your not running a Vtec basemap.

Re: Check engine light... which friggin code it is?

How long are the long blinks supposed to be? I was thinking it could be code 2... with some crazy nanosecond light after it for some reason. But there is nothing wrong with my O2 sensor. My stock one is still installed and was working fine last night. I tried disabling O2 heater (which I shouldn't even have to do) and no luck. arghhhhhhhh!!!!!111111111111

Re: Check engine light... which friggin code it is?

You have to disable the VTEC pressure switch. I had the same problem. Just do that and you are set.

Re: Check engine light... which friggin code it is?

I've already done that.

Re: Check engine light... which friggin code it is?

OK so you have VTEC disabled, VTEC pressure switch disabled, and you have reburned the chip itself. Have you tried closed loop disabled?

Re: Check engine light... which friggin code it is?

Yes, tried it with and without closed loop disabled.

post your bin and let me look at.

Here ya go ;) Any input is appreciated.

---- I can't upload a .bin file...

Ok, rename this to .bin ;)

Re: Check engine light... which friggin code it is?

First off your VTP is enabled. It should be disabled. Second your PA sensor should be checked.

woops I think I sent you the wrong bin, one sec

Re: Check engine light... which friggin code it is?

Try this one as it sits. Dont open and resave it until you burn it. Its the UberdataLE version. Obviously change it to .bin first.

Re: Check engine light... which friggin code it is?

----, I guess I may have backtracked on one of my bins and it was the VTP sensor... Thanks so much for the help Dave. What's the deal with the PA? Does it make a difference?

Re: Check engine light... which friggin code it is?

NP. Not sure what the PA sensor does but in all my bins its checked. Glad to be of help. Now go rape that thing.

Re: Check engine light... which friggin code it is?

PA sensor is your atmospheric pressure sensor. It will allow your ecu to adjust accordingly to where you are in the world. You can leave it checked, it won't affect anything.

Thanks Steve! :D

Re: Check engine light... which friggin code it is?

I just got the n/a portion of my map tuned perfectly.... Now comes the boost >:D

Too bad I have no idea how to tune the ignition map so I'll just leave it at the conservative level the basemap had

Re: Check engine light... which friggin code it is?

pa is like he said...jdm don't have it and usdm do. it's the little black box next to the eeprom/socket. if you have it ckeck it...if you don't uncheck it.

Re: Check engine light... which friggin code it is?

I was wondering what that funny lookin thing was! Looked like it could be an old school mini vaccuum tube or somethin, in any event I was curious as soon as I saw it.

Re: Check engine light... which friggin code it is?

Oh btw. If you aren't running 10 psi you could add quite a bit more timing.

Blundar is of quite a different opinion. All that jacked ignition advance and skewed AFRs he was getting when testing 1.8 out, he deduced the problems to code conflicts in Uberdata with JDM ECUs. Between disabling sensors, or said ECUs lack of hardware to support said sensors, things got good and fucked.

I trust Dave B. His sister's hot, too.
