cheapest way of fuel management
What would be the cheapest way to provide fuel for 7 psi on d15b7 del sol?
Would it be a walbro pump, and a fmu using the stock 240cc injectors. Or i heard about getting 310 cc injectors for it. How about a FPR, is that necessary when you have a fmu? Should i get safc for 7 psi? |

Man you might as well fork out a few extra bucks and get it hooked up right bro. Whats an extra 100 compared to blowing your ---- up? I was looking at a new pump and an fmu for like 200 then I got my AFC and 390cc injectors for like 250. Had to wait like a week longer but hey it was worth it. The afc has a much better transition to boost and you wont have to run pressure bleeders. Definetly the best bet to spend an extra few bucks in my opinion.

I keep reading that with and AFC, it's like running a stock turbo car.
I experienced that with the FTB hack, too with no noticable bogging or anything at part throttle, but to no avail, I blew my ---- up. |

im a bit confused ,whats the difference between a FMU &FPR. Is a fmu a rising rate fuel pressure reg ??Can i use a MALAPASI RISING RATE FPR??.Or is vortech the only people who make a fmu??

FMU= Fuel management unit
FPR= Fuel pressure regulator. FMU is acctually whatever fuel management unit, but here they refer it to an FPR. the 20 bucks voltage devider thing can work really well it's just like tha AFC hack, but you set it at one setting for the entire rpm band like -40% from 1000-8000 rpm on the AFC. It lets you run boost til 10-11 psi depends on your map sensor just like the AFC hack. If you have a honda With the ECU mod and Ghettodyne you can make the car run a bit richer if it leans out with the FTB. |

George Ricketts has posted some OBD0 code to PGMFI that acts like an AFC boost hack... you can edit the maps in one of the versions of Ghettodyne 1.0x (I can supply if needed) although the pressure headers will then be mislabelled as Ghettodyne assumes it is a stock program.
Uberego, er - I mean Uberteg, on HT (and sometimes here, but rarely) is selling OBD1 boost chips for $100. He recommends using an AFC to tune them... if you have a friend with an AFC, you can tune it with that and once you know the settings Uberteg reprograms the chip for free. Both would require ~450cc injectors and a little over $100. For the OBD0 route you buy a chip burner and blank chips, for the OBD1 route you buy a chip and pay some shipping. You get real ECU based fuel controls with full control of both fuel and ignition for a stupid cheap price... none of the aforementioned options do that w/ the exception of filetofit's (or my) MAP limiter circuit and chip. I really really need to get a chip tuned for one of Jeff's cars and send it off for him to review. I think he'd like it a lot. |

smc+ & DSM 450's. 150 max. plus you can run it all the way up to 14psi. and the smc+ serves as a missing link to!
