CEL and Idle questions (UD)

Back when I turboed my car ('95 LS) I socketed the ECU and wired in the WB and started with an UD base map. I have no laptop so I have been just kinda making mental notes when driving and modifying the map accordingly on my PC . I have got it running pretty good as far as AFR but still a couple bugs.

1. Idles good during cold/warm up ... but after its warm it wants to idle low ... like 400-500 or so .. I tried playing with the idle setting in UD but it seems to make no difference ... I really wouldn't mind if it idled a little high as it shakes less over 1Krpms any way (jim fab mounts). I treid the screw and all that got me was a CEL but I pull the battery for awhile and cured that ... still idles low ...

2. I have an occasional CEL ... every so often right after I have pulled through boost I'll get a CEL , but if I shut the car off and switch the key back to the ON position its gone ... so I can't even get a code from it .. anybody had this and cured it ???

I would get a CEL when I would slow down coasting... I remember reading that it was the first column being too rich, but I never bothered to mess with it. Does your exhaust pop at all when deaccelerating?

No comment on the idle. I could never get my car to idle right with Uber. Doesn't mean it can't be done, I just couldn't do it. ;D

Hmmm....IDK ... I am getting ready to richen the map alittle maybe I'll lean the first colomn a tad and see if that helps.

What are you running now? I am considering CROME Pro as soon as I can afford it+laptop+ostrich .

Read this to check the CEL: http://www.pgmfi.org/twiki/bin/view/Library/CEL

A lot of people were asking about checking CELs that go away when you turn the car off, I re-wrote the CEL page on PGMFI.org

Ok, well I tried a new map and while the AFRs were suckin I didn't get a cel at all so I guess we'll wait and see if it comes back .....

... for now I am trying to over come this axle situation :7

I thought the CEL would store itself, even if you turn the car off?

I was running Uberdata and recently switched to Crome Pro. I'm having some problems that are not software related, so I can't really comment on Crome yet.

You would think so, but I kept getting the IAT code because of someone's ghetto ass butt connector job (I was being lazy:1). I could never check it after I turned the car off, so I checked it with the car on.

Sounds like you got a "phantom" cell. Theres a chance it might be a bad chip job. Check the solder on the pins. Maybe a bad conection?

Doubt it's the chipping job if the CEL only came on after boosting.
