damm car ...it shuts off some times juts out of the blue. and then it gives me a CEL 15. that and the TAch needle jumps around when ever i let off the gas. Does anyone know what this chould be? faulty connection? settings on the AFC?

car selcet is 6 on the back of the afc...

cant think of anythign else...

car runs on 6 lbs pf boost 390cc injectors and the oldschool black AFC with *****...

i think the problem is with the white and yellow wire...

 

check your connections.

Ignition output signal errors usually come up when (I think it's these ones, for OBD0) A15 and A17(thick white, next to each other) are broken or shorted. check those, and check the distributor wires, the thick white one corresponds with A15 and A17.

 

well im stumped...i checked the wiring and even soldered the connetions ...( should have done this before i know ) and still get code 15. so i guess ill check the distributor wires and my wiring will have to be redone... i bougfht the afc without the harness and had to make my own.

ill try again in the morning or later tomorrow.

your ignitor in the distributor is going bad.

try another distro and see if that fixes it; if it does im almost certain its your ignitor module.

 

say what? my ignitor? hmmm nevr though of that....ill check it out ..im currently doing the hardwood floors in the apt. sucks to be me today

any distributor wether its a SOHC DIst or 89 teg should work right? i have acouple of them laying around, one from a DPFI another from a MPFI single cam and i think thats it..all are OBD0 and 90-91

 

i think u can swap ignitors from any distro; not sure though... but just swaping distros if the bolt holes line up and they're both the same obd then yeah it should work......



i think the icm in my obd1 is going out now >:O the tach went ------- nuts on me on the way home from my test drive (finally got all the bugs worked otu in my obd1 conversion) but i hit the clutch and let it idle and it started working again........ ih ope it was just a fluke

 

Yeah, rockin the old school AFC. I used to have one of those.

ill get back to all you guys about my bug today...sayturday was a fun filled day of hardwood florr refinishing. and SUnday was Stealthmodes uninstall ..that was fun!!! and today i 8 hours of good ole Work!!! so after i get off at around 5 PM PST i will go home and try swapping ougt my DIstributor or ICM. then finally i can hook up the Old Skool AFC aswell, i took it off to re-do the wiring harness....

the DPFI dist wont work, fyi, neather will an 89 teg.. what motor u got?

 

DOHC ZC...wait you say it wont work beacuse of the bolt holes or from some other reason?
