can't find ecu support
i've got a 91 accord with i believe an OBD1 PT3 ecu(if i'm wrong please correct me) and i can't find jack ---- for chipping or tuning. Most everything i find is limited to integras and civics. I may have simply overlooked one of the units but so far i can't find anything. I'm willing to learn to edit roms and program my own ecu fuel/ignitions tables but i need a kick start in the right direction first...thanx for reading.

Re:can't find ecu support
try asking on the uberdata forum, he does obd-1 stuff.

Re:can't find ecu support
no love for the f22's...i'll try to ask uberteg tho or if u can get to him sooner that'd be good too. I finally convinced a company to mass produce f22 turbo exhaust manifold now i just need to convince someone about engine management. Are our ecu's even chippable?

Re:can't find ecu support
The ecu may or may not be chippable but since it is obd1 you could just use an intega/civic ecu with programming for your car. You probably won't have a good basemap to start with but it could get you rolling.

Re:can't find ecu support
i'd really love to keep my ecu is the thing. Its most likely gonna be the best for my application. Since the engine management is the lifesource of any application i'd like to use my existing base map on my ecu but just modified to my specs. Theres gotta be a way to tune this ecu for boost.

Re:can't find ecu support
..have you thought about, I don't know, maybe opening the ECU and looking at it?
Also, I know a P0A is chipable. As a matter of fact, I have one sitting right here that came with external EEPROM from the factory. You'll be able to dump the program, and begin modifying it for your needs. P0A I believe is SOHC VTEC, F22 is DOHC VTEC.. you should be able to modify the maps on the P0A to that of the DOHC's Maps... |

A silk screened outline of the missing components on the PCB.

Re:can't find ecu support
wow language is like code to me lol. I'm gonna disappear for awhile and get a headache reading up on roms and chips and such...its gonna take a while. And there'd be no point in me opening up the ecu and looking at it because i'd be like a deer in some headlights. I'm still scared of the electronic aspect of the engine cause its all magic to me still lol...someone hold me :-[

Re:can't find ecu support
if you want boost support, learn assembly and get coding - you have a long road.
The PT3 (And PK3) are both oddball ECUs. They both represent honda's first experiments with "OBD1" You guys are both lucky because your distributors are electrically compatible with the 92-00 Civic/Integras. You guys are unlucky because the code for neither of your ECUs has been explored. Andy Shinn (GimpyAccord / GimpyCivic) used to have a 92ish accord, and ran it with a P28 (he could have used a P06/P75 but he had a P28 handy) with quite a lot of success. Significant changes to the tuning (particularly: scalars) were needed for things to run well. I know the original tune is buried on PGMFI somewhere. I'm sure if you were to search hard or contact him via the Uberdata board (http://www.eci-multi.org/uberdata/) he'd probably hook you up with a baseline tune. The main advantage of using a Civic/Integra ECU to run your Accord/Prelude at this point is quite simply that there is stable, tested boost code. Good luck. -Dave |
