Cam/Crank angle sensors

Alrighty, well I need to get rid of my distributor on my car. I had to modify it to work with my Autronic SMC ems w/ 2 Hall sensors. Well when we welded a ring on to space out the one bracket it destroyed the seal. The seal is no longer available. So we machined out the hole when we ordered a new seal. It was slightly smaller than the book stated, so we had to epoxy it in. Its still seaping a bit of oil through, not too big of a deal. Anyways, I keep getting sync loss between my dist. and the ecu. I think a big problem is we had to cheat the ecu to believe the dist. timing wasn't where it was at (we couldn't cock the dist. because the new hall sensor was hitting up against the Vtec solenoid-I made as much clearance as I could by shaving down the plastic of the sensor and trimming away some of the solenoid itself) Still no luck and this thing is driving me nuts. The tach will go all crazy because the dist is going all crazy. I can't tune it because its acting all crazy. So I am going to do a direct fire, possibly a wasted spark setup on my car so I can completley eliminate that POS distributor.

Anyways...heres the question...

I was looking at T1's cam trigger kit. Its an all inclusive $649 kit for a bracket, a sensor, a machined cam gear with pickups machined into it and another matching cam gear. Sweet ass kit, Sour ass price. But it will work, no questions asked.

What I am wondering is if anybody has attempted to use the ZC cam angle sensor on a B-series. I don't even know the output of it (analog/digital-I would assume analog though). I've just started looking into modify that sensor and using a missing tooth crank trigger wheel which would be a lil more work but a hell of a lot less expensive. Any experienced input would be great. Also if anyone has the specs on the ZC cam angle sensor that would be much appreciated.

Thanks in Advance,
Kevin

you might wanna hit up the megasquirt forums. Those guys have a lot of knowledge of efi's working components.
