blown wire harness???
so my map sensor connection was rigged.. i had to extend it to fit the obd-2 manifold using the obd-0 harness.. it was working decent, but the connections were butt-connected and ------- up a little... so i wanted to solder it n clean it up.. my friend cut all three wires at once and we used a new plug from an obd-2 harness, and had one connection for each wire that was soldered. well i go to turn it on and the vafc reads -760mmHg which is the max as if its unplugged and it wont stay on when i start it.. i changed map sensors, i put in a different ecu, changed map chips from a tuned one to a basemap and back, and reset it.... any ideas of what could be wrong?? could it be that the wires got burnt out on the way to the ecu?
well all the wires running from the sensor plug to the harness are all the same color and order from odb-2 and obd-0, and thats the only thing i changed, can the're be a problem with the vafc since it intercepts the signal from the white wire?
well i tried some other ---- but i think i blew something out because now i cant get any spark
is there any way i shorted out the wire harness or something, and is there any way to test if its good?

well i guess the harness isnt blown cause i got it to start kinda but its still not getting signal from the map and im stumped, i disconnected the vafc and ran the wires stock, but im still not getting any signal.......
iono im pissed

yea i ran new wires straight from the map sensor, and i repinned the ecu wires with ones from an old wire harness, so all the wires are completly new, and i ddouble checked the connenctions and soldered most of them.... the vafc is still not showing any signal, and the ecu isnt flashing any codes..... i swapped the 5v wires but didnt touch the white wire, going to the vafc... so iono
Test the wires with a DVOM.
one wire will always be +5v with KOEO (key on engine off)
one wire will always be 0V with KOEO
one wire will be somewhere inbetween 0-5v and will be roughly 2.65v
make sure you hooked them all up correctly...i never trust wires being the same color...always test
