Bit confused on how to set VAFC

I dont get where to set the points on the VAFC. I have a JDM B16a2. Can i set the points on every RPM? Or is it just certain RPM?

Mine are set to 1k, 2k, 3k, 4k, 5k, 5500, 6k, 6500. This is on a d16 but I think theyre pretty much general?
