I have a po6 ecu chipped, how does hondata work, is it just software you can make bin files on like crome? or do I need to further modify my ecu to use it? I'm new to the management area and would just like to know my options.

Can I ask why you don't want to use Crome?

Besides uberdata, all of the other programs mentioned are $$$

Hondata's obd1 support is worthless. S300's ECT/IAT support sucks major balls. Neptune and Crome are your best options. Another option would be to find someone who is a brilliant coder, hand him some money, and have him develop an editor for you.

I just couldnt find a post about all the different options and thought it would be good to see it on here, and i've always kinda wondered. I also would like somthing with more of an instruction manual, not just learn by trial and error, which dont get me wrong is ok but considering the "error" part can hurt pretty bad if you ---- somthing up. pgmfi is a good source, but jesus there are so many contradicting statements I dont know wtf is going on. somthing with some set instructions would be nice and I would be willing to pay for it if it means not ------- up my motor.

pgmfi.org is your instruction manual.

Last I checked the link was dead. I have it saved on my HD though if anyone wants it. I'm to lazy/paranoid to host it, so if someone wants to, LMK.

This is HMT man. Why would you want to have to pay out the ass to tune your car when there are free alternatives out there. I don't really see anything wrong with CROME especialy when there are cars out there running pretty massive numbers off of the free software. Besides where else are you ging to get all the badass feature that CROME Pro offers for 150? Just my 0.02.

Besides using software to edit the bins on your stock ECM you could run a Megasquirt ECU for pretty cheap. You can get an assembled unit for about 350 and the software is free as well. You can set it up to run just about any combination you can dream up.

Re: better option than crome?

Acually I was trying to get the software for free and figured somthing that is widely used would be easiest to get, I think i'm just going to stick with my free crome and ecu control.
