Best place to get 29c256 or 27c256
 

Sup guys,
looking for a place to get 29c256 or 27c256 chips from.. i had one 29c256 but i think i ruined it by putting it in the socket forward and not jumping it correctly.. any idea where has the best prices on these? thanks!

If your burner supports the SST27SF256 FLASH chips, you can order those for $2.50 each from PGMFI. Reg 27C256 for $1.50... (I know our 27C256 prices suck :()

yeah, i am curious if they are erable/reprogrammable by the chip burner and not need a light.. i am using a willem burner and i believe they are supported. with the 29c256 i have to run a jumper wire which is pretty annoying..

i think i may have ruined my 29c256, when i first inserted it i had it closest the zif socket lever and not to the back.. does this normally ruin the chips? with the wire and dip switches set correctly i get a error: write sector 0 error.

hey im just glad someone is taking notice! i think the reason i like HMT so much is that the people on here, like you, arent assholes like alot of sites..thanks! i guess ill keep on asking till i get a answer.. but i need to know pretty quick because ill be done with turbo set up in a week or two

I opened up my willem burner software to look if the SST 27SF256 is supported, and it is. So i selected the chip, and the erase option became available, leading me to believe that it should be erasable and a good alternative to the 29c256

are these similar to sstt27sf512? I have a moates BURN1 burner, and their suport list burns this one and the 29c256, but I dont have access right now, so I would like to know so I can get some extras
