Best management system for obd0 pr3 ecu??

Hi

just wondering what management system would be best to use with obd0?

i've currently got civic 1991 ef9 and it has a pr3 ecu.

will soon have turbo conversion so looking for a good management.

thanks

Re: Best management system for obd0 pr3 ecu??

just found out

you can tune with zdyne or aem and keep OBD0

Zdyne supports boost and obd0. where could i get a zdyne from?

i've heard something about an afc hack? i do have a vafc currently installed and is that to any use with turbo?

what about turboedit? is that basically a program to make me a good mapped chip for my ecu?

Re: Best management system for obd0 pr3 ecu??

turboedit is a do it your self or (have a shop) tunning program. you creat a map and save it to a chip. you need to have you ecu socketed to use it. the most efective and one of the cheapist forms of managment

Re: Best management system for obd0 pr3 ecu??

thanks for the help,

yes i've got a socketed ecu.

what about zdyne and aem? is that any better?

anyone know anything about this afc hack?

igotnothin 11-10-2006 07:49 AM

Re: Best management system for obd0 pr3 ecu??

afc hack is a "hack" read the FAQ in managment and the forced induction idk about zdyne, and aem is great from what i here but it is expensive. do some research on turboedit, pgmif.org and that is your best bet imo

Re: Best management system for obd0 pr3 ecu??

zdyne and aem are both very expensive replacment ecu's that are fully programable, and they are also a waste of your money, your best bet if your ecu is already chipped is to download BRE, see if you can have someone make a base map for you, and then either play with the software or have a shop dyno tune it....

Use BRE. It's great! Free, lots of support. It has datalogging and all that good stuff.

not trying to jack the thread but do you guys think it is better to convert to obd-1 so you have more options besides just BRE

OBD 1 FTW!

That depends on what yor hp goals are.

redex04 11-10-2006 09:32 PM

Re: Best management system for obd0 pr3 ecu??

so high hp goals = swapping to obd-1?

Re: Best management system for obd0 pr3 ecu??

OBD0 - non VTEC = TurboEdit
OBD0 VTEC = BRE

Converting to OBD1 offers more tunability options via Crome/Uberdata/Hond$t$/Neptune

BRE is great, it works without glitches, datalog included. :y

Btw now it also supports NG60 bins, so you can tune with it any non-vtec PM6/PR4 and the like, just like Turboedit.

i had a friend that used BRE and he had problems out of it and converted to obd-1 so i think BRE may have some glitches still. do they update frequently because if they do they may have fixed the issues that he was having.
