best bang for the buck.

Okay well im a newb here and havent looked around much but what i want to know is what is the best bang for the buck when it comes to engine managment for a home made turbo. im talkin the best all around system. is it the afc hack with a btm, or stand alone, or something else. something that will be reliable and easy to tune. i dont have very mcuh cash so im on a budget and i dont have enough dough to go to a dyno all the time. so cheap, simple to install, and easy to tune. the setup will be on zc and i want to run 10 psi, on the track, and like 7 around town. thanxz!

Probally afc will do you good...
Standalone is out of the picture unless you can find a good deal on one(I see hondata run for 400 on h-t sometimes)..
Other things to look at would be some piggy-back systems..greddy e-manage,efi pms(i hear good things),accel dfi.etc would all run in a good price budget...

What is you budget?

Your best bet depends on how comfortable you are learning new stuff. You can do cheaper than an AFC, but it's a little more complicated to fiddle with.

well im not afraid to learn new things, so what do you have in mind? ive also heard about just using an FMU and DSM injectors? but then would i need a BTM also for the ignition? i allready have the walbro 255 fuel pump, so i have around 500 bones to finish the rest of my fuel and ignition system. what would you recomend for injectors, fuel controller and things like that, for 500 bones what should i buy to get the job done! thanxz for the replys ;D

I think for 500 most people are gonna say go AFC $250 DSM 450's $50-70 and BTM $100. That puts you at like 400-450 and you will be able to tune it. Plus there is tons of info on this forum concerning the Afc DSM 450 setup. Good luck

Read this thread in it's entirety: https://www.homemadeturbo.com/forum/...;threadid=3878

I'm sticking one of these chips in my CRX right now to test and tune.
