basemap issues?

so i had a friend chip my ecu, and burn me basemap. i slapped on the 440s and turned on the car, guess i just wanted to see if everything would be fine, since he was pretty much still running the 440s and everythign else stock when he took of his turbo. anywho, i fired it up and rpms shoot to about 3k, wth? anybody have any idea why?

Re: basemap issues?

W/ a 3k idle, id check dumb stuff first. Like leaks around the injector/IM area. Spray some brake cleaner around the IM when its running for a quicky vacuum leak check.

You'll see the idle drop when you spray near where the leak is. If all else fails, recheck your basemap to see where the idle is set, and if it's not that, check your throttle body and try resetting the butterfly to see if it drops down.

Keep in mind the motor will idle high until it warms up, so also check your IACV and make sure your coolant is bled thoroughly. Make sure you buddy didn't screw around with the IACV settings in the program as well (if using Crome or BRE etc.)
