Backwards chip?
this might be a good question for you ecu chippers. I removed a 27c256 eprom from the zif socket in my ecu today. I installed it in my new burner just to make sure the burner was working properly, and I had the burner read what was on the chip. Then after it gave me the info I re-installed the chip back into my ecu, but I wasn't sure which direction the chip should face. So I just guessed...
Well when i went to start the car, I had a check engine light and it idled up and down. I also tried switching the position of the chip and that had no effect. What happened? Did I fry my ecu or just the eprom? Is it possible to loose data on a 27c256 chip without erasing? Any help would be appreciated. )trance( |
Re:Backwards chip?
The little Grove on the ship that looks like a little "U"
Faces the Ecu plugs and on the burner it faces the Parallel port.. (batronix at least) |
Re:Backwards chip?
Awesome!!! Thanks for replying ASM. I'm still waiting for some more chips to come in. Maybe this time I'll do it right.
