Like it say's, I cant find a Complete D16z6 for less than $600 unless its got the distributor ripped off. I have a obd1 d15b7, will my distributor work on the Z6?

Nope, D series non vtecs work on all D series non vtecs and D series Vtecs (z1,z6) work on just D series Vtecs. You're not looking hard enough. Full z6 swaps shouldnt cost more than $300 or 400.

I've called every yard in Wisconsin, and I'm not driving out of state to get a pos d16 the only one under 600 I found is 3 1/2 hours away for $250, it smokes and has no distributor.

What is the main difference? can I modify My b7 distributor to work or is it just not worth it.

yes you can modify it.
you have to cut off the back leg and notch the top one (& use a bigger washer).
