Autometer air/fuel gauges. Where are yours reading
I'm curious what your air/fuel gauges are at if you have them. Mine with my fmu turned all the way up I can only get to the first rich bar and it also lights up the very last stoich bar.
Occasionally it stays in the lean/red and the very first bar... very bad. I'm not sure if the gauge is simply wrong or if my fuel pump isnt working the way it should or what. Anyways just give me some insight if you can and I'd appreciate it.

This was on my old set up and it was consistent everytime unless it was really cold out. But it was always a green right above the word "rich". I just made sure it was always green under boost.

What size FMU disk are you using? Where did you tap the sensor wire for the gauge? How does it feel? Does it feel weak when the readings drop? How much boost are you running?
Don't even look at that gauge unless you are at WOT(not sure if you know that).

Dr. Boost,
I'm aware that it only works at wot. I have a Bell Eng (cartech) adjustable FMU part #2025. The gain is adjusted almost as far as it goes. If I completly close the gain control when my car shifts it takes a ----...I'm thinking the injectors are clipping at that point.
I'm currently running about 4.5 psi
I tapped the sensor at the same spot I connected into the O2 sensor wiring when i extened it ( the wire was not long enought to reach its new location). The only thing I did differently was that I used a different gauge wire to extend the wire to the 02 sensor as well as to the air/fuel guage's wiring. I doubt that would make a difference but its possible.
The car feels nice, it pulls well and seems to run well. I need to pull the plugs, maybe I'll do that tomorrow.

Do you have a way to check fuel pressure? Maybe the pump can't keep up or maybe the FMU isn't doing it's job.
That's a pretty low psi for you to be having that sort of problem. What fuel pump are you using and what size are those injectors?

Re:Autometer air/fuel gauges. Where are yours reading
I agree its odd... The fuel system is completly stock I beleive they are 240 or 260 cc injectors. The pump has 130,000 miles on it almost so that coudl be a problem as well. I'm not sure if the fmu is really doing its job but the air/fuel gauge seems to respond to me adjusting the gain.
I dont have a fuel pressure gauge setup, I wish I did but I simply cannot afford it at this time.
I have a set of 35lb/hr injectors from my old thunderbird turbocoupe at home that I will try sometime. They are about 350cc or so I cant remember I figured it out once. Anyways I'm not sure if my stock ecu will handle them but its worth a shot. I will replace the intank pump this winter hopefully and upgrade it.
