Default anyone here uses E-manage???

(i am considering burning chips for management)

I just came from a shop about 3mins away from my work place (picking up a 7lb spring for my WG).

they are selling the E-manage for 252.00 (after tax)
and the injector/ignition harness for a extra $20/$35

i am thinking hard about selling me VAFC for about 180-200
and just adding the extra $100+ and then i will be able to afford a e-manage.

whay do you guys think

e-manage sucks big time. I (tried) to tune a WRX with one and had nothing except trouble... settings not saving right, unit randomly rebooting. On top of that, the interface is far from intuitive. Poorly designed piggyback.

I'd go with a PerfectPower SMT6 if I was going to get a piggyback.

ehhh... i think that if I was able to chip my own ECU anyone with a little mechanical/car knowledge can do it... not to mention before Uber i hated working on anything that had to do with electronic stuff...
i think you'll be happy of the results once you do it all yourself and get it running good... especially if you enjoy the challenge of DIY.

my first couple of solder joints looked nasty but improved with time... now i solder just so i can get off on watching a perfect joint form... aaahhh....

Heh, you could say that I use TurboEDIT.

As far as how it compares to eManage, TurboEDIT rocks it.

Cost, flexibility, ease of use, support, features, and precision.. TurboEDIT outweighs eManage 10 fold.

TurboEDIT teamed with PGMFI has the potentional to be the number one OBD0 engine management system out there. A lot of people put a lot of work into making the TurboEDIT Engine Management System as good as it is...

I've installed and tuned Emanage on a few cars...latest was a turbo Maxima, and seeing as how there are little out as far as "serious" engine management for these cars, Emanage was great. ran and idled the 370ccrs like nothing and the timing retard worked pretty good as well after installing diodes to prevent coil burning its rather simple to use and tune(almost like a big *** AFC pretty much)...user interface and datalog is cool BUT as far as for Hondas when compared whats out there Emanage is bottom of the pile. when you have choices like Uberdata, TE and Chrome out which are free, I wouldn't pass those up for a "souped up" AFC hack cause really thats all it is my $.02 I'll be using TE myself wheever my POS is ready.
