Anyone have experience with the HKS S-afr? I have some questions...
I recently installed a turbo system on my tacoma, and have installed an hks safr unit to help out with fuel issues. Without any correction, I get some nasty lean spikes when mashing the gas, specifically from lower rpm levels (i.e., 2500 cruise in 2nd or 3 gear, then punching it). When this happens, the truck bogs badly, until the fuel catches up and the truck takes off, with the afr coming back to normal.
When I use the safr, the repsonse function helps a ton with this problem. My questions are the follow: In the response mode of the safr, it says that it increments in units of m/sec. Since this is a parameter to add fuel during sudden throttle application, what exactly is the relationship between this unit of time (that is meters/sec, right?) and the volume of fuel? Secondly, I feel that the magnitude of the lean spike I get when punching it is excessive without applying any correction. What other problems could this be a symtom of (this is my first turbo kit, so I have nothing to compare to)? |
